Mark Williams obtained his BSc. (Hons.) in biochemistry from Queen's University and Ph.D from the University of Alberta. While at the U of A he worked on novel antiviral drug screening technologies and gained experience in a highly technological research environment. Additionally, he was able to observe and interact with several prominent biotechnology companies that were spun off from academic projects during his time at the university. In late 2003 he joined GVI, bringing his scientific background and experience with transitioning research between an academic and corporate environment, to the Genesys Venture Inc. team.
